Sessions generally take place on a mattress on the floor, dressed in loose, comfortable clothing. It is advisable not to eat a heavy meal or drink alcohol just before a session, but it is not necessary to be on empty stomach.
At your first appointment, I will explain what this technique involves and how the session will unfold. Time will be set aside to answer your questions. I will also take note of your medical conditions so that I can better support you during the active breathing period.
At the beginning of each session, you will briefly share with me your current issue and I will help you to formulate an intention for your session. If you choose, I can also use coaching to help you move forward more concretely towards your goal in your daily life.
The breathing session begins with you lying on your back. I will observe your breathing pattern and gently guide you. I will use acupressure points and affirmations to open and relax your breathing and lead it into a more optimal pattern. I may also invite you to make some movements and sounds. Depending on your breathing pattern and how you respond to the various interventions, I might invite you to change your position: for example, lying with your chest at a 45-degree angle, sitting, or lying on your stomach. Of course, I will check beforehand what your limitations and sensitivities may be, so that I can adapt to them.
The session is accompanied by rhythmic music during the active breathing period (generally between 30 and 40 minutes), followed by relaxing music during the integration period (around 15 minutes).
After the session, there will be time to share your experience and ask any questions you may have. I will invite you to integrate a breathing practice into your daily life so that you gradually become more autonomous.
Each Transformational Breath® session is a unique experience: you will not experience the same thing from one session to the next.
